4 Days Guilin to Longji Terraces Highlights Tour

Upon arrive in Guilin, a small city with great natural beauty in Guangxi of south China. Be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Guilin. Free at leisure for the rest of the day.

It is an exciting day to visit the natural beauty of Longji Terraces and experience the unique minority culture in the mountainous area of Guilin.

In the morning, our local guide will pick you up from hotel lobby at about 08:30 and drive toward Longsheng directly. It takes about 2-2.5 hours driving along the mountainous road to Longji Terraces Scenic Area. You will be stunned by the magnificent terraced paddy fields in the hill slope, surrounding the minority villages. Free time for you to climb and visit Longji Terraces before lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, walk around the ethnic group, you will find local villagers working in the fields, local women doing needle works under the roof, the kids running and playing in the village. We will start to drive back to Guilin in the late afternoon. The tour finishes at about 17:30.

Today, the highlight sightseeing is a leisurely cruise down the Li River to Yangshuo. Meandering through valleys, bamboo groves and mysterious Karst rock formations, the cruise will affords you a glimpse of a life far removed from the concrete jungle. After disembarking, stroll around the West Street which is the oldest street in Yangshuo with a history of more than 1,400 years. It now becomes a place that mixes the eastern and western culture harmoniously. 

On this full-day sightseeing tour you will explore some of the city's most fascinating natural landmarks, starting at Elephant Trunk Hill on the confluence of the Li River and Peach River. This symbol of Guilin takes its name from its resemblance to an elephant drinking water from the river. The popular site dates back more than 3.6 million years, and towers more than 180 feet (55 meters) above the green waters of the river.

Continue to Fubo Hill. Partially submerged in the river, it was named for General Fubo of the Tang Dynasty, and was the site of his Mayuan Temple. Because of its height, the hill is said to tame the waves and stop surging waters, which then form whirlpools.

Climb almost 350 steps for a bird's eye view of Guilin. The steps beside the Sword Testing Stone wind their way to the 1,000 Buddha Cave, site of more than 200 Tang Dynasty Buddha statues.
