Hongya Cave Folk Customs Area


Hongya Cave, is  a commercial street which is located on Cangbai Road in Yuzhong District of Choqnging City. It is situated in the riverside area where the Yangtze River and Jialing River intersect.  

What to see?

Composed of "stilted houses" with traditional Ba Yu architectural features, built along the river and in line with the mountain terrain, Hongya Cave Folk Customs Area is a great place to stroll through the old streets of Choqnging city, enjoy the scenery of the two rivers, and taste local cuisine.

Hongya Cave Folk Customs Area consists of four parts: Zhiyanhe Bar Street, Tiancheng Lane Bayu Style Street, Feast Food Street, and Exotic City Balcony.

It is mainly composed of stilted houses with traditional Bayu architectural characteristics, which are situated on the mountain terrain. Through layered platforms, stilted houses, staggered stacking, cliff facing and other mountain architectural techniques, this area of buildings is gathered together, with bright lights at night, making it a scenic spot in the mountain city.

Food, shopping, and sightseeing

Walking into the Hongyadong Folk Customs Area, there are dense stilt houses on both sides. There are as many as 11 floors from the Yangtze River Road at the foot to the Cangbai Road at the top. Each level has different contents, including restaurants, snack streets, bars and cafes, as well as local specialty shops. The top floor is an exotic city balcony that can be accessed directly by elevator.

Standing on the observation platform, you can enjoy the endless scenery of the confluence of the two rivers from afar.
