Lingyin Temple


Lingyin Temple, also known as Yunlin Temple, is located at the foot of Lingyin Mountain to the west of West Lake. It is the earliest famous temple in Hangzhou, with many beautiful cultural relics from different dynasties. It is the birthplace of Jigong, and is said to be a very effective place to pray for blessings, with an endless stream of visitors coming here every day to pray for blessings.

Seventeen hundred years of wind and rain have made Lingyin Temple a treasure house of history and culture: the plaque “Yunlin Zen Temple” hanging on the Hall of the Heavenly King was inscribed by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty; the stone pagoda in front of the Daxiong Bao Dian and the stone sutra block in front of the Hall of the Heavenly King are relics of the Wu-Yue period of the Five Dynasties and the Ten Kingdoms; the Buddhist cultural relics treasured inside the temple include the ancient scriptures written on shells and leaves, the gold-plated Buddha statue of the Eastern Wei Dynasty, the Diamond Sutra of the Ming Dynasty, the Diamond Sutra of the Qing Dynasty, the Diamond Sutra of the Qing Dynasty, and the Diamond Sutra of the Qing Dynasty. Vajra Sutra, the Qing Yongzheng woodcut dragon collection and other precious treasures.
