What to see

There are many scenic spots here, including the famous scenic spots in Jiuzhaigou Valley : Reed Sea, Shuzheng Qun Sea, Spark Sea, Rhinoceros Horn and Shuzheng Waterfall.

Reed Sea  is a semi swamp lake where many reeds grow. Every spring and summer, this place is filled with lush greenery. On the occasion of autumn and winter, the reeds are golden in color. Whenever the reed flowers bloom, there are goose down reed flowers everywhere.

The altitude of Reed Sea has reached 2140 meters, and the reeds here are not as tall as those in low altitude areas. There is a flowing water belt in the middle of the reed sea, winding through it and dividing it into two halves. This water belt is called the Jade Belt River.

Shuzhengqun Sea  is a terraced cluster of 19 lakes of different sizes. The height difference between the two lakes is 100 meters. Each one is colorful. The surrounding trees are green and the lake is blue, which has the saying of "the epitome of Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area Valley". If you overlook the sea from a high place, the scenery becomes even more spectacular.

Between these large and small seas, there are trees such as willows, poplar, pine, and cedar, as well as many shrubs. The lake water flows over the embankment from top to bottom, passing through the trees and forming wide and flat waterfalls, performing the wonder of "trees growing in the water, water flowing in the forest".

Sparkling Sea  was torn open with a 50 meter long breach, causing severe damage to the scenic spot in the earthquake on August 8, 2017, the Spark Sea.

The former Spark Sea, between the Twin Dragon Sea and the Sleeping Dragon Sea, is surrounded by dense forests. Every morning when the sun rises, the surface of the lake sparkles with golden light, like numerous sparks dancing in the water; In the evening, looking down against the light, you can also see the shimmering waves on the lake surface.

In summer, wildflowers by the seaside, with dewdrops shining brightly in the sunlight, complement the sparks in the sea.

Rhinoceros Sea  is one of the most famous lakes in Jiuzhaigou Valley. There are cruise ships for rent in Haizi. It is a place for water activities in Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic Area. The altitude here is about 2300 meters, with reed beds at the end of the north bank, forests and waterfalls at the exit of the south bank, and a mesmerizing blue lake in the middle.

Legend has it that in ancient times, there was an elderly Tibetan man who was seriously ill and rode a rhinoceros past here. After drinking the lake water, he miraculously recovered. So the old man drank the lake water day and night, unwilling to leave, and rode a rhinoceros into the sea, which became known as the Rhinoceros Sea.

Shuzheng Waterfall  is the waterfall seen when entering the ditch, and it is also the smaller of the four large waterfalls in the ditch. The upstream lake water flows down along the shallow shoals and is blocked by the raised circular ladder like calcareous deposits, forming several waterfall surfaces resembling giant lotus petals. From a distance, it looks like a water lily in the sky that never fails to bloom, which is very spectacular.

The waterfall is located upstream of Shuzheng Qunhai, next to the crowded Shuzheng Village road. The rushing lake water falls into the bottom of the waterfall and rushes downstream towards the mill, constantly pushing the wooden wheels of the downstream mill and turning house.

However, there are more than 40 lakes of all kinds, accounting for about 40% of all lakes in Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic Area. Known as the epitome of Jiuzhaigou Valley , there are mysterious Haizi, colorful beaches and streams, as well as sea groups and magnificent waterfalls interspersed with primitive mills and trestles.
