Zhujiajiao Ancient Town


Zhujiajiao Ancient Town is located in Qingpu District, Shanghai, adjacent to the Dianshan Lake Scenic Area. It is a typical Jiangnan water town with crisscrossing streets and alleys, and a very elegant environment. The town has scenic spots such as gardens and historical sites, as well as numerous traditional specialty snacks and small business shops, making it the first choice for visiting ancient towns around Shanghai.

The ancient town of Zhujiajiao is not large, and you can just walk around the town. You can take a walk and enjoy the flowers for about half a day. After entering the ancient town from the south entrance, you will first come to Zhuxi Garden and the Humanities and Arts Museum. Zhuxi Garden is a small and exquisite garden that is now open for free. The Humanities and Arts Museum is a modern white building with a unique design, which records the local history and culture of Zhujiajiao in the form of oil paintings and sculptures.

After passing the Humanities and Arts Museum, you will come to the North Street, where tourists are bustling on foot. There are many snack shops on the street. The famous Aba Zong, the ancient town rice dumpling, the sauce pig's feet, and various exquisite cakes can be eaten here.

Walk slowly north along the North Street. There are several small bridges with different shapes on the right, such as Yongfeng Bridge and Tai'an Bridge. On the other side of the river is Caohe Street. Along the river, there are various scenic spots, such as the Post Office of the Qing Dynasty, Wang Chang Memorial Hall, Chenghuang Temple, Yuanjin Temple, etc., which can be visited one by one. In addition to scenic spots, there are also many small business shops on the street, and the famous Cat's Sky City Bookstore is also here.

On the right side of North Street, there is a large bridge spanning the main river, which is the famous Fangsheng Bridge in Zhujiajiao. After passing through the Fangsheng Bridge and reaching the opposite bank of the Caogang River, there are still small waterways crisscrossing, and there are small bourgeois shops and various snacks distributed along the river. The lesson garden is also located in the Zhujiajiao scenic spot, which is an exquisite garden model built with the essence of Jiangnan gardens.
