Yangjiajie Scenic Spot, located in the west of Wulingyuan Scenic Area, is connected with Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in the east, nearby Tianzi Mountain in the north. With an area of 34 square kilometers, as well as the highest elevation of 1,130 meters, Yangjiajie is the last scenic spots among the four major scenic spot of Wulingyuan Scenic Area to be developed.
Yangjaijie is a sacred scene that enjoyed the same fames of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Suoxi Valley and Tianzi Mountain. Being in the early stage of peak forest evolution history, Yangjiajie boasts forest coverage rate of up to 95% , which has crisscrossed ravines , clear streams, dense vegetation.
What to see in Yangjiajie?
Yangjiajie consists of three parts: Xiangzhi stream, Longquan valley and Baihou valley, in which there are altogether over 200 scenic spots. Top attractions of Yangjiajie are listed as below:
Xiangzhi Sream
Xiangzhi stream is located in the east of Yangjiazhai scenic spot, a stream meandering in the stream, towering peaks on both sides of the forest. At Xiangzhi stream, one sees undulating peaks extending into the distance and limpid brooks winding along the deep gullies, and hears birds and cicadas singing in the dusk along the ancient roads, it is a land of peace indeed. There are 35 scenic spots which have been named, and the main scenic spots includes One-step to Heaven, Air Corridor, Wulong Village, Liu-Lang Peak and so on. It takes about 4-5 hours of hiking to arrive here, without any charge, and is included in the Zhangjiajie Forest Park admission ticket.
Air Corridor is a walkway with a length of 300 meters and a width of less 1 meter, which is a huge a huge peak that splits at half-waist. It is bottomless cliff to the south, and it is a stone wall with its height of 50 meters. Walking inside the way, you are entering as if in an air corridor. Here you can see pines growing on the cliff, clouds flying across the way, and wind howling in the mountain. Standing here, you also can see the landmark of Yangjiajie Stone Wall.
Dragon Spring Waterfall looks like a hanging waterfall falling down from the heaven. No matter how hot you are, you will immediately feel cooler when you are standing in front of the waterfall. When you feel a little cold, you can walk into the pool of this waterfall. Since that, you will feel a warm breeze.
Reach Heaven In One Step
The site of is the "Reach Heaven In One Step" is the highest peak in Yangjiajie Scenic Spot. With a 32 step iron ladder to reach the summit, the peak is flat and surrounded by iron railings. The southwest peaks are adjacent with growing lush trees. Looking to the west, there are multiple layers of depth of field. The first layer consists of two prismatic low flat stone pillars, and the second layer consists of three stone peaks. One of them is like a person holding a child, and the child rubs their eyes with their hands. The middle one is like a couple hugging lovers, and the other is like a large barrier. On the south side, there is a stone peak with large peaks and small peaks, resembling a mallet.
White Crane Lawn is a rest place for white cranes, thus it gets the name. If you have a chance to appreciate white cranes here, you will find a life of Shangri-la. The best time to enjoy scene in White Crane Lawn are morning times and evening times. In the morning, white cranes will spread their wings and begin to fly with dulcet tweets. And in the evening, white cranes come back with the dusk scene as the background. They will play with each other for a period, and then, become quiet gradually in the night.
Yangjiajie Stone-peak Wall is an important component of the "Zhangjiajie Landform" scenery. Its formation predates the common stone pillars in Tianzi Mountain, Yuanjiajie, and Huangshi Village scenic spots. The stone-peak wall boasts extremely high scientific, ecological, and aesthetic value. A single stone wall is not uncommon in sandstone landforms, but it is rare for such a tall group of stone-peak walls in Yangjiajie Scenic Spot to be fully preserved. Its scale and beauty are out of print globally.

Five-color Flower, Have you ever seen a five-color flower? You can find this kind of plant in Yangjiajie Scenic Area. According to some researches, the five-color flower can be seen in the upper reach of Liucui Strem.
