Guangdong Museum, located in the southern part of the Zhujiang New Town center area in Tianhe District of Guangzhou City, started its construction in 1957 and was officially opened in 1959.
The foundation stone of the new museum was laid in December 2004 and the museum was completed in 2010, covering a total area of 67,000 square meters, which is the provincial comprehensive museum of Guangdong Province.
Guangdong Museum has a conspicuous appearance in the shape of a treasure box, in which the pavilions are divided into four parts: History Pavilion, Nature Pavilion, Art Pavilion and Provisional Pavilion.
