Originally, it was the ancestors of Yunshe Village who adopted a maze like layout and built high walled courtyard style buildings with four sided square bricks to prevent banditry, which formed the ancient village's winding alleyways and unique Tujia sealed fire barrel houses. The comprehensive, systematic, and creative planning and construction ideas of the ancestors of Yunshe Village have amazed visitors.
