There is also "Türkiye Cotton Castle" in Yunnan, which is White Water Terraces ( 白水台 Baishuitai）, located in Sanba Township of Shangri La County, about 100 kilometers away from Shangri La County. Amidst the lush greenery, white terraces emerge layer by layer, resembling a white terraced field.
According to legend, the gods of the Naxi ethnic group created a terraced field specifically to teach people how to cultivate land, which later became known as the "Immortal Legacy Field".
Baishuitai is not only a scenic place, but also the birthplace of Dongba religion of the Naxi ethnic group. On the eighth day of the second lunar month every year, it is the annual "Chao Bai Shui" activity of the Naxi people. The Tibetan, Naxi, Yi, Bai, Lisu and other ethnic groups from four miles and eight townships gather here to perform sacrificial activities with songs, dances and picnics, praying to the gods for a bountiful harvest in the coming year.
