Jinci Temple is located on the banks of the Jin River at the foot of Xuanweng Mountain, 25 kilometers southwest of Taiyuan City. It is a temple built by later generations to commemorate Tang Shuyu, the founding vassal of the Jin State, and is the ancestral temple of the Jin State. There is a saying that goes, 'If you don't go to the Jin Temple, you'll end up in Taiyuan in vain.'
Within the scenic area, the "Three Treasures" (Xian Hall, Fish Marsh Flying Beam, and Holy Mother Hall) and "Three Wonders" (Zhou Bai, Nan Lao Quan, and clay sculpture painted portraits) of the Jin Temple are must see attractions for anyone who comes to the temple.
