Fuhu Temple was first built in the Tang Dynasty. The temple is hidden deep in the mountains and surrounded by towering trees. Today, it is a peaceful nunnery.
There are not many tourists coming to Fuhu Temple, and the environment is very peaceful, giving people a sense of detachment from the secular world. The temple also provides accommodation and meals.
During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Emei Military Training Corps General School was held here, and the Sichuan University School of Literature and Law, which fled the war, were also established here. There is also a plaque in the temple inscribed by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, which reads' Li Gu Yuan '.
