Shenyang Yangko is a local folk art that was formed during the Ming and Qing dynasties by inheriting the traditional characteristics of Yangko since the Tang Dynasty. It was originally a form of entertainment for ancient Han people during their agricultural leisure period. At the beginning, it was a means of livelihood for a few idle folk artists performing on the streets, gradually becoming an entertainment activity during festivals or temple fairs. Characteristics: Shenyang Yangge, in addition to inheriting the traditional artistic style of Manchu Yangge, has integrated with the stilt art of southern and western Liaoning, forming a unique artistic feature of roughness, boldness, explosiveness, enthusiasm, cheerfulness, strength and freedom.
