Yueyang Tower, 160 km away from Chngsha, is located at the head of the west gate of Yueyang, close to the Dongting Lake. Yueyang Tower is called the three famous towers in the south of the Yangtze River along with Pavilion of Prince Teng in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province and Yellow Crane Tower in Wuhan, Hubei Province.
In addition to climbing the tower to look at the past, the unique architectural structure of Yueyang Tower is also worth seeing. The whole building does not use an iron nail and a beam, and the roof form is also very unique. The ancient general's helmet style roof structure is used. The "Ruyi arch of wooden architecture" lifting form, which is stacked and matched, is also very unique in the history of ancient architecture in China.
There are also some small scenic spots in the Yueyang Tower Scenic Area. At the Five Dynasties Pavilion near the gate, Yueyang Tower model of the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties is displayed; On the beach downstairs, there are three iron objects in the shape of shackles, weighing 1500 pounds. The origin and purpose of these objects are still unclear. There is also a dock in the scenic area, where you can take a boat to the opposite Junshan Island.
Yueyang Tower is not far from Baling Square, so you can play together. Bianhe Street nearby is a tourist antique street in Yueyang City. There are many local snacks and shops selling tourist souvenirs on the street.
Yueyang Tower is famous for Fan Zhongyan's masterpiece Memorial to Yueyang Tower in the Northern Song Dynasty. Now, when you climb to the top of a three story building and lean against the railing, you can see the vast 800 mile Dongting Lake. The ancient saying "worry about the world first, and enjoy the world later" echoes in your ears.
