Tangyuan汤圆,English name:Rice dumpling or Soup Round, is a Chinese dessert made from glutinous rice flour mixed with a small amount of water to form balls ande is then cooked and served in boiling water. In Chinese ,the pronunciation of Tang Yuan is similar to the word Tuan Yuan ,which has the meaning of reunion and happiness in Chinese.

Rice dumpling originated in the Song Dynasty. At that time, Mingzhou (now Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province) began to eat a novel food, that is, black sesame and white granulated sugar were used as raw materials. First, black sesame was ground into powder, then lard and white granulated sugar were successively put into the mixture to knead into a ball for filling, and glutinous rice flour was used outside to knead into a round shape. After cooking, it tasted sweet and delicious.
