Wolongtan

Wolongtan, originally named Wenglongtan, is the exit of the karst hidden river Wolong River and a classic landscape in the Xiaoqikong Scenic Area. It is named after the green water deep pool formed by the dam, the rolling waterfall, and the legendary Wolong. From the surface, it appears to be only the source of the Wolong River. Later, due to the construction of dams to generate electricity, it was introduced into the Xiangshui River and became the total water source of the two rivers.

The hidden river gushes out from the bottom of the cliff, and due to a curved inward water retaining dam at the bottom of the pool, the surface of the pool is as calm as a mirror. Only the rolling waterfall on the dam and the continuous flow of canal water outside the pool can make people feel the flipping of the Wolong River at the bottom of the pool. Strange rocks and trees stand tall by the edge of the pond, and the sound of water outside the pond roars. The surrounding mountains are tightly locked. The water pool is like an underground abyss, with a deep blue and clear water surface. The peaks, green trees, and bamboo forests on the shore reflect the colorful scenery of the pool, making one feel like they are in the middle of a painting.

The continuous stream of green water from Wolong Lake rolls down from the dam, forming a large-scale characteristic waterfall. The waterfall is like silk, and the shape of the crescent moon is like a fairy comb. Standing on the bank of the dam, the beautiful scenery of Wolongtan can be seen at a glance, shrouded in mist, especially entering a fairyland, which is breathtaking.
