Wanfeng Lake is located at the junction of Guizhou, Yunnan, and Guangxi provinces (regions). It is named after the Wanfeng Forest to the north and the Wanfeng Mountains.
It is an artificial lake formed after the completion and storage of the Tianshengqiao High Dam Power Station, a national key hydropower project. The total storage capacity is 10.2 billion cubic meters, the main waterway is 128 kilometers, the average width of the lake surface is over 4 kilometers, and the accumulated water area is 600 square kilometers. There are over 30 islands, more than 50 peninsulas, over 80 harbors, and 12 inner lakes inside. Along the coast of Wanfeng Lake, there are dense forests of peaks, rocks, caves, sinkholes, and forests, forming a unique landscape of mountains with water in the mountains and mountains in the water.
Wanfeng Lake is a pearl on the the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, enjoying the reputation of "the lake of Wanfeng, the most in the southwest, the southern scenery, and the landscape painting".
