Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport, once called Dayong Airport, Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport, is located at the foot of Tianmen Mountain, in Zhangjiajie City of Hunan Province. As regional airports for domestic tourism, and also Hunan's backbone Airport, this airport was opened was officially opened to traffic on August 18, 1994.

Covered an area of 154.56 hectares, Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport is a 4D-graded airport designed and built in accordance with the national civil aviation and ICAO technical standards. The runway is 2600 meters long and 45 meters wide. Channels on both sides are 7.5 meters wide and 0.32-0.34 m thick. The flexural strength is 4.5MPA. Road shoulder thickness is 0.12 m. The airport is available for 250 below medium-sized aircrafts to take off and land. The apron area is 120,000 square meters and there are 19 aircraft stands.
Lying 8 km away from downtown Zhangjiajie, the airport has opened 11 international routes, of which seven international routes are newly opened. There are over 30 domestic routes. The airport is connected with 11 international cities of two foreign countries and 30 domestic citie. The average flight density is 289 classes in a week. Nowadays, Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport plays an important role in the development of the tourism industry in Hunan.
