Located in the Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain Temple is one of the three main tourist attractions in Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area. The temple was first built during the Tang Dynasty and is the Buddhist center in the western Hunan region. Tianmen Mountain Temple is a grand temple with three entrances and two halls. On the temple gate, there is a high letter reading "Tianmen Xianshan", with couplets on both sides saying "Every day outside the sky is not a night, and there is no mountain on the mountain alone." It no longer exists, only some remains remain.

The current Tianmen Mountain Temple is rebuilt on the original site. It adopts the official style of the Qing Dynasty and consists of the mountain gate, bell and drum tower, the Shakya ManiHall, Guanyin Pavilion, Sutra Pavilion, Dharma Hall and other buildings. Especially the Guanyin Pavilion, with its exquisite design, complex structure, and unique ingenuity, is comparable to various classical buildings in China. There is a The Buddha Buddhist relic given by Nepal Lumbini in the temple, which is one of the only five pieces in China.
