Anshun city built in 1381, it is one of the earliest ancient cities in Guizhou Province to establish a county seat. It has rich historical and cultural heritage, including cave culture, Yelang culture, Cuan culture, Tunpu culture, red culture, and ethnic culture. The unique Tunpu culture is the only living relic of the Ming Dynasty in the world, containing the spiritual value of maintaining national unity and the contemporary value of promoting ethnic integration. For more than 600 years, Tunpu people have still followed the cultural customs of Fengyang Han costume, carved window frames, martial arts opera, ghost face Nuo carving, etc., showcasing the long style of the Ming Dynasty and the lingering charm of the Jianghuai region. A large number of national intangible cultural heritages, such as Anshun Di Opera, the epic of King Yalu, the twelve tunes of bronze drums, and the Miao Jumping Flower Festival, demonstrate the rich cultural heritage of the city. Anshun was one of the important stops during the Long March of the Red Army, leaving behind historical stories such as the "Nong Ran Alliance"(弄染结盟). It was also the hometown of Comrade Wang Ruofei, an older generation proletarian revolutionary and one of the "100 heroic and exemplary figures who made outstanding contributions to the founding of New China" in the country.
