Tea Horse Ancient Road


Tea Horse Ancient Road refers to a folk international trade channel that exists in the southwestern region of China, mainly using horse gangs as the main means of transportation. It is a corridor for economic and cultural exchanges among ethnic groups in southwestern China.

The Tea Horse Ancient Road is a very special regional term, and is one of the most spectacular and mysterious tourist routes in the world, with endless cultural heritage.

Lijiang Tea Horse Ancient Road, located at Hongwen Village, Yulong County, is over 10 km pass through in the mountainous. The Tea Horse Ancient Road was very famous in ancient time. Merchants relied on horses to transport tea and other commodities into and out of the country.  It began in the Warring States Period. It has great historical value.

The Tea Horse Ancient Road is not a straight continent, but in fact, it is located from the starting point of a small mountain to the top of the mountain, where there is a road monument. Riding a horse over steep mountain roads, almost all of which involve crossing mountains and ridges.
