Yulong Snow Mountain is one of the well-known attractions in Lijiang and the sacred mountain in the heart of the Naxi people, with a total of 13 peaks rolling like silver dragons flying, hence the name.
Yulong Snow Mountain is known for its “danger, wonder, beauty and beauty”. From the foot of the mountain to the top, there are subtropical, temperate, frigid and other multi-level landscape step by step.
Yulong thirteen peaks under the 19 modern oceanic glaciers, far as a waterfall hanging in the fan steep below, in the sunshine, flooded with silver light. What to see
Blue Moon Valley
Located at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang, the Blue Moon Valley is formed by the Baishui River, which flows through this area. The pool water is clear to the bottom and has a fantastic blue color, which is very eye-catching. Blue Moon Valley has four lakes with different colors: "Yuye" Lake, "Jingtan" Lake, "Blue Moon" Lake, and "Tingtao" Lake. There are also many small waterfalls arranged in a staggered manner, and the photos are very beautiful.
Baishui River
Baishui River is a river at the foot of Yulong Snow Mountain, formed by the melting water of the snow mountain. Because the water quality is very clear, it flows through a section of riverbed and plateau with white rocks, and the water seems to have turned white, hence the name. When the Baishui River flows through the Blue Moon Valley on the ridge of Yulong Snow Mountain, its colors are colorful and fantastic, very beautiful.
Blue Moon Valley is on the upstream of Baishui River. The two places are connected, and everyone visits together. There are many small lakes with beautiful and transparent colors, as well as some small waterfalls, white calcification pools, etc. The scenery is very similar to the scenery of Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area Valley and Huanglong, and the photos are also very beautiful.
Sisters Lake
The Sisters Lake is located next to Yufeng Temple on the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Since a very early time, this sisters lake has been located next to Yufeng Temple, which is renowned for its ten thousand camellia trees.
Due to its peaceful and pleasant environment, people like to come here for vacation, picnicking, and returning to nature on weekends and holidays. Therefore, there is a saying in Lijiang that goes, "Where to go for holiday leisure? Sisters Lake outside Yufeng Temple.
Spruce Meadow
Spruce Meadow, also called Yunshanping 云杉坪 in Chinese, is located within the Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Area, and is a high mountain meadow on the mountainside of the main peak of Yulong Snow Mountain. It is also known as the "Valley of Martyrdom" and is said to be the place where many young men and women sacrificed their lives in the past. Here, you can enjoy dense spruce forests, alpine meadows, and the magnificent Yulong Snow Peak.
To travel to Yunshanping, you need to take cableway within the Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Area, which costs 55 yuan for a round trip. After arriving at the cableway station, walk along the boardwalk for sightseeing. Firstly, we will pass through a forest where the trees are precious spruce trees, each tall and beautiful. After passing through the forest, you will see a hidden pasture between the deep mountains. The flat alpine meadow is open and beautiful, and behind it is the magnificent main peak of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, suitable for photography.
Gan Haizi
Ganhaizi is located at the foot of Yulong Snow Mountain. It used to be a lake wetland, but later dried up and became a dense alpine meadow. The meadow is very open and is an excellent pasture. Moreover, it is very close to the snow capped mountains, where you can see the Thirteen Peaks of Yulong Mountain. It is a great place to take a panoramic view of Yulong Snow Mountain from above.
Most tourists pass by here while visiting the Yulong Snow Mountain scenic area, take a walk on the grassland, and take photos of the snow mountain, which takes about half an hour.
Glacier Park
Glacier Park is located in the Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Area, which is the main peak of Yulong Snow Mountain. It is a gentle slope with a steep northeast slope. Here, the snow is vast in autumn, winter, and spring, and in summer, you can see glaciers formed more than 40000 years ago. Moreover, there is a cable car connecting here, making it almost easy to climb up the mountain. It is a good choice to experience the charm of the snow mountain up close.
To go to Glacier Park, you need to first arrive at the Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Area and choose to take the cableway. The cableway up the mountain takes about 15 minutes, but there may have been a 1-2 hour queue before. The cableway station is located within Glacier Park. If you go up the mountain in summer, you can enjoy the magical scenery of "four seasons a day" on the cableway.
After reaching the mountaintop, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of icebergs and snow. In summer, the Baishui No.1 Glacier, which was formed more than 40000 years ago, is exposed and can be observed up close. In other seasons, you can see vast snowy scenery, with white mountains that are both majestic and beautiful. There is also a signboard at an altitude of 4688 meters on the mountaintop, which is a popular spot for many tourists to take photos.
