5 Days Chongqing Zhangjiajie Tours

When your flight lands in Chongqing today, our local guide will meet you outside the baggage claim area at the airport and transport you to check into the hotel

After breakfast,  drive to visit the Ciqikou Ancient Town, located 14 km to the west of Chongqing city. It used to be a very important water and land communication hub in the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1911 A.D). Its history can be traced back for more than 1700 years. There are 14 ancient stone slab streets flanked with houses, shops in traditional styles. Tea bars, the local artist studios and the Shu Embroidery workshops are three notable attractions. There are more than a hundred tea bars with their own particular characteristics in such a small town. Here friends enjoy a chat or meet to discuss business. You will have opportunity to meet the locals and enjoy the unique folk opera in the tea bars.

After lunch, visit the famous Three Gorges Museum of China - the largest monographic museum. The exterior of the museum has cambered walls and vitreous dome, representing the history & culture of Three Gorges Project and its origins.

You will walk inthe people's Square and visit Chongqing Great Hall of People from the outside. Built in 1951 and finished in 1954, the Chongqing Great Hall of People is the architectural symbol of Chongqing city. It is designed in the traditional symmetrical style, covering an area of 66 thousands square meters with a 4000-seat auditorium.

Then we will take you to have an experience by Chongqing Rail Transit, then go around the  Hongyadong Folk Customs Area ,  a  famous commercial street in Chongqing. Composed of "stilted houses" with traditional Ba Yu architectural features, built along the river and in line with the mountain terrain, Hongya Cave Folk Customs Area is a great place to stroll through the old streets of Choqnging city, enjoy the scenery of the two rivers, and taste local cuisine.

After breakfast, take bullet train from Chongqing to Zhangjiajie. Upon arrival at Zhangjiajie Railway Station, you'll be met local guide and transferred to have lunch at local restaurant.

After lunch, you'll visit Tianmen Mountain, with 1518 meters above sea-level, is one of the top attractions which is famous for its six wonders such as Tianmen Cave, Tianmen Temple, Glass Sky-walk, Connected-Heaven Avenue, 999 Stairs... Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area covers a total area of 96 square kilometre, including 2 square kilometers on the top of the mountainous area.  Combined peaks, rocks, springs, streams, clouds and forests, Tianmen Mountain integrates scenery with majesty, wonder, beauty, danger, and seclusion. 

You can enjoy the show of Tianmen Fox Fairy, known as the first real-scene musical drama with the high mountain and deep valleys as the stage background in the world, which is put on at the foot of Tianmen Mountain at night from 1 April to 30 November in this year.

After breakfast, you'll have a fullday to explore Wulingyuan Scenic Area. 

At first, visit Tianzi Mountain by Tianzi Mountain Cable-car up. Covered a total area of 5400 hectares, Tianzi Mountain is even better known as the "King of the Peak Forest". Tianzi Peak is the highest point at an altitude of 1262.5 meters. Tianzi Mountain has four wonders such as cloud waves, moonlight, sunset, and winter snow.

Then take shuttle bus to visit Yangjiajie Scenic Spot, which is connected with Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in the east, nearby Tianzi Mountain in the north. With an area of 34 square kilometers, as well as the highest elevation of 1,130 meters, Yangjiajie is the last scenic spots among the four major scenic spot of Wulingyuan Scenic Area to be developed. 

Yuanjiajie Scenic Spot is your must-see because it is famous for Avatar Mountain,  located in the northeast of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, as well as situates in the code area of Wulingyuan Scenic Area in Zhangjiejie City. Decorated by the world's most beautiful valley Golden Whip Valley, Yuanjiajie scenic area tells travelers what is a marvelous mountain in China.

Thereafter, go down the mountain by Bailong Elevator to walk along the Golden Whip Stream.

After breakfast, you are transferred to visit the Glass Bridge,  built in Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon,is over 430 meters and also the longest bottom glass bridge in the world.  After lunch, you will head to visit Baofeng Lake which is praised as the Jade Pool in the world. Here, you can see the waterfalls hanged on the mountain, the crystal water surrounded by the unique mountains, and you can also learn the folk songs of the Tujia Ethnic Group while you ride a boat on the lake. 

Thereafter, you will have an experience activity of collecting  tea at Baizhangxia Tea Garden located on the road-side of Wulingshan Avenue. And then you'll be transferred to Zhangjiajie Aitport / train station for your departure to your next city.
