Yuanjiaijie Scenic Spot is famous for Avatar Mountain which is located in the northeast of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, as well as situates in the code area of Wulingyuan Scenic Area in Zhangjiejie City. What to see in Yuanjiajie ?
Yuanjiajie Scenic Spot is located in the centra of the Wulingyuan Scenic Area. Standing on the observation platform in Yuanjiajie, you can see thousands of peaks at the same time. Peaks in various postures just look like countless brave men. Rock pillars with green trees just look like handsome generals. They describe a scene of army. Although these peaks are solid, they let people enter into a imaginary world and present a lively picture in the front of our eyes.
Bailong Elevator is the best choice for tourists to get to the Yuanjiajie Scenic Spot easily. Upon arrival at the mountaintop by the elevator,tourists can ascend on the top of a peak to get a commanding view of its famous scene - Shenbingjuhui (lit. God's Force Rally), the scene is also nicknamed the Fields and Gardens of the Heaven for its beautiful trees, ethnic houses and paddy fields on the high mountains.
Back Garden is also known as the Imperial Garden. Usually, Imperial Garden refers to the garden belonging to the Chinese emperor. But in Yuanjiajie, people will find another imperial garden belonging to the God. When people find a giant rock which may block the way, just turn around it, and there is a marvelous scene behind it. About ten peaks are standing straightly, while green rivers are surrounding them.
Enchanting Terrace，also called “Enchanting Plateform”, is an observation deck located near the back garden. Standing here, tourists can have a bird's-eye view of the thousands of peaks scattered in the Shadao Stream(沙刀沟） Valley. After the rain, the sky is getting clear with clear clouds and light fog. These peaks look like jade buildings, as if they were bright or dark. And it looks like a Fairyland Palace,which is "built" according to the geography of the mountain. Surrounded by mist, this palace is a rocky courtyard. Why do people give this place the name 'Enchanting Platform'? That's because the scenery here can make people lose their souls. Seeing the unique scenery here, you will doubt your eyes, and you will also have doubts from the bottom of your heart. Ultimately melting your mind into the unique scenery in this world, you can feel as if you have lost your soul.
Avatar Hallelujah Mountain
It is understood that a large number of prototypes in the "Pandora Planet" in the movie Avatar originate from the mountains in Zhangjiajie, among which the picture of "a pillar in the south sky" becomes the "Hallelujah Mountain", which is the prototype of the suspended mountain. In the movie Avatar, these huge rocks suspended in the air are called "Hallelujah Mountains" (also called Montas Volans) by people on the earth, which is a great scenic spot of Pandora. On January 25, 2010, the "Southern Sky Pillar" (also known as the Qiankun Pillar) in Zhangjiajie was officially renamed as "Avatar Hallelujah Mountain". On that day, hundreds of local residents and tourists witnessed the renaming ceremony.
No.1 Natural Bridge in the world: This natural bridge is crossing over two peaks with only 2 meters width and 20 meters length. This sky bridge is crated by the hand of nature. With 350 meters high from the bottom of the valley, the bridge is the tallest natural stone bridge in Zhangjiajie. Its height and span are rarely to see in the world, hence it is called the " No.1 Natural Bridge in the World". Stepping on the bridge deck , you will get a feeling of soaring above the wind. If you hold onto the iron railing and look up, you can see the green peaks floating in the mist. If you overlook, you can see strange peaks like bamboo shoots, and mists rising in the deep valleys of rocks. However, this is a unique scenery in Zhangjiajie and a miracle of nature.
Hanging Waterfall is a waterfall flowing from a 200 height in Shadaogou Stream Scenic Spot. It looks like a white silk that hanging from the sky. During the rainy days, people can see the rainbow across this waterfall. And during the flood season, it looks like a dragon flying in the sky.
Wulong Spring is hidden in a cave. When entering the cave, the clean spring is presented to you. The karst stones which look like fish, tortoises, dragons, horses, etc are spreading in the bottle of the spring.
How to get to Yuanjiajie?
Nowadays, tourists can easily reach Yuanjiajie Scenic Spot. One is taking Bailong Elevator up and then walk 5 minutes and take 5 minutes shuttle bus to the station of Yuanjiajie. The other is taking shuttle bus from He Long Park at Tianzi Mountain via Yangjiajie Shuttle Bus Station to Yuanjiajie. And if you like hiking, you can also choose a hiking-route to walk there, which is treking from the Golden Whip Stream via Luanchuanpo to the Back Garden
