Famous Chengdu Dishes  

Since ancient times, the Chengdu Plain has been the birthplace of Shu culture, with a prosperous economy, a gathering of merchants, and a thriving catering industry. During the Tang Dynasty, Chengdu had become one of the three major commercial centers in China, on par with Guangzhou and Yangzhou. At that time in Chengdu, the catering industry was flourishing, and Sichuan cuisine gradually spread throughout the country, becoming an important part of Chinese catering culture. 

After thousands of years, Sichuan cuisine has become more complete. Now it has formed a rich and diverse system of banquet style, home style, farm style and Tonic Diet, with up to 4000 dishes.

Chengdu Sichuan Cuisine Museum is a dynamic themed museum that showcases culinary culture, including important parts of Sichuan's local culture such as Sichuan cuisine, Sichuan wine, Sichuan tea, Sichuan opera, Sichuan style architecture, and Sichuan style gardens.The scenic area covers an area of about 40 acres and has more than 6000 collections. The residential buildings in western Sichuan form a new style of classical garden scenery.
