Zhang Xueliang's former residence was first built in 1914, covering an area of 53000 square meters. It includes multiple sets of cultural relics and buildings, such as three courtyard houses, large green buildings, small green buildings, Guandi Temple, red buildings, Zhao Yidi's former residence, the former site of Bianye Bank, and the former site of the office. It is a national key cultural relic protection unit.
At present, the Zhang Xueliang Old Residence Exhibition Hall and Shenyang Financial Museum are jointly established using the Zhang Xueliang Old Residence architectural complex. The exhibition area of Zhang Xueliang's former residence exhibition hall includes three courtyard houses, a large brothel, a small brothel, the Guandi Temple, and Zhao Yidi's former residence. The Shenyang Financial Museum, established on the basis of the former site of Bianye Bank, mainly displays the restored exhibition of the original Bianye Bank trading hall, president's office, and underground vault, as well as basic exhibitions such as the history of Northeast financial development and currency stories, comprehensively reflecting the history of Bianye Bank, a brief history of Northeast financial development, and the evolution of monetary finance.
