Guiyuan Buddha Temple


Guiyuan BuddhaTemple is located in Hanyang District, Wuhan City. Founded in the 15th year of the Shunzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1658), it is one of the local temples. Guiyuan Temple features 500 golden Arhat in Arhat Hall.

Walking into the Arhat Hall,  you can see 500 Arhat, all of them were lifelike. Some are sitting cross legged, some are lying on a stone looking at the sky, and some are studying Buddhist scriptures.

Tourists enter the Arhat Hall, start from any Arhat, and count back to their actual age in order. The identity, expression and action of this Arhat tell your destiny.

Guiyuan Temple is now divided into old area and new area. Once entering the mountain gate, the old area is located. The main buildings in the old area are Luohan Hall, Fangsheng Pool, the Shakya ManiHall and Sutra Pavilion.
