Basha Miao Villagea


Basha Miao Village (locally known as biasha) is located on a hillside facing the Duliu River in Congjiang County, Guizhou Province, at an altitude of 550 meters. 

There are more than 300 households in the village. Due to its remote location, the ancient and primitive way of life has been preserved to this day. The wooden buildings in the village are quaint and simple; Surrounded by dense forests, the environment is elegant; The villagers are all Miao ethnic group, with primitive clothing styles and unique hairstyles, known as the Qin Dynasty hair style Han fashion. 

Basha Miao Village is built along the mountain, layer by layer, and it is often difficult to discern the direction when one is in it. The houses are all ancient stilted houses, with roofs covered in cedar bark, maintaining the original flavor of the ancient Miao village. Basha is characterized by the makeup and hairstyle of Miao men. Basha men attach great importance to their hair buns, which are called "hu guan" in Basha Miao language.
