Harbin History&Culture


22000 years ago, there were human activities in Harbin. In the late Yin and Shang dynasties, Harbin belonged to the distribution area of the Baijinbao culture. Since the reign of Emperor Shun, Harbin has been the homeland of the Sushen tribe. During the Han and Wei Jin dynasties, Harbin was a territory of Fuyu State. During the Tang Dynasty, Harbin was a territory of the Bohai Kingdom's Hujie Prefecture. In 1115 AD, Harbin was under the jurisdiction of Huining Prefecture in Shangjing Road, Jin Dynasty, and was a key area of the Jin Dynasty's capital. In the Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to the fiefdom of Genghis Khan's third brother Timuge Wochijin family. In 1395 AD, Harbin belonged to the Ming Dynasty. In 1932, Japan occupied Harbin. On April 28, 1946, Harbin was liberated.


Harbin has only a development history of over a hundred years. It not only gathers the historical and cultural heritage of northern ethnic minorities, but also integrates various cultures such as Central Plains culture, Jinyuan culture, Jingqi culture, Russian diaspora culture, and Jewish culture. It is a famous historical and cultural city in China. Harbin is also a city with a continuous red gene and excellent revolutionary tradition. It is a city with a strong European flavor and the birthplace of China's beer industry. It has been awarded the title of "Harbin, the Capital of Chinese Beer" by the China Alcoholic Drinks Association.
