Harbin is located in the center of Northeast Asia, serving as an important gateway for China's opening up to the outside world, a core hub of the "China Mongolia Russia Economic Corridor," a center city for national cooperation with Russia, and an international gateway hub for China's Northeast Asia region. It has been designated as an international comprehensive transportation hub, international aviation hub, and international railway hub by relevant national plans, and has been successfully selected as a supporting city for the national comprehensive freight hub reinforcement and strengthening in 2023. As of the end of 2021, there were a total of 79 stations (line stations) in Harbin City. As of June 2024, there are a total of 22 passenger stations in the main urban area of Harbin, including Harbin Station, Harbin West Station, Harbin East Station, and Harbin North Station. In addition, there are transportation hubs such as Harbin Taiping International Airport, Harbin Pingfang Airport, and Harbin Port.
