Beijing Opera is the quintessence of Chinese culture. The origin of Beijing opera can also be traced back to several ancient local operas.
In the 55th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1790), the four major local opera troupes in Anhui - Sanqing troupe, Sixi troupe, Chungong troupe, and Hechun troupe - successively performed in Beijing. Hui troupes often perform in cooperation with Han Opera artists from Hubei Province. As a result, a new type of opera, which mainly focuses on Hui Opera "Erhuang" and Han Opera "Xipi", and combines the essence of Kunqu Opera, Qin Opera Opera, Bangzi Opera and other local operas, was born. This is Peking Opera.
