Yangshuo County is under the jurisdiction of Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is located in the northeast of Guangxi, south of Guilin City, adjacent to Gongcheng County and Pingle County to the east, Lipu City to the south, Yongfu County and Linggui District to the west, and Lingchuan County and Yanshan District to the north. The county seat is 65 kilometers away from the urban area of Guilin, with a total area of 1436 square kilometers. The topography of Yangshuo County is mainly composed of stone mountains and hills, with mountainous areas as a supplement. The terrain on both sides of the northeast and southwest is relatively high, belonging to the edge of the Ocean Mountain Range (Dongyao Mountain) and the Qiaoling Mountain Range (Xiyao Mountain). The mountain range roughly runs from northwest to southeast and is the main source of rivers and streams in the county. The central part of Yangshuo County is a hill of about 150 square kilometers, with an altitude between 200 and 500 meters. The wide area that runs through the southeast from the northwest belongs to karst landform, with a lower terrain and a tilt from north to south. When warm and humid air flows into the southeast Pacific, it is easily uplifted by the terrain and prone to rainfall, while cold waves are also prone to immersion.
Most rivers in Yangshuo County flow from the northwest to the southeast. Li River flows through the territory of Yangshuo County. The karst areas on both sides of the Li River are lined with stone mountains, with an altitude of 200-500 meters and a relative height difference of 50-300 meters. The rocky mountains are crisscrossed with eroded depressions, peak forests and valleys, and river alluvial plains, with a relatively flat terrain.
