Tianmen Mountain Escalator runs through the mountain along the tunnel which was opened and put into operation in April,2015.
The tunnel spanning 672 meters consists of 12 sections, with a total operation length of 897 meters and hoisting height of 340 meters. It is equipped with 16 sets of 30-meter heavy-duty escalators and three sets of 20-meter ones. These escalators can carry 3,600 tourists for one-way trip per hour.
By Tianmen Mountain Escalotor, visitors can get to the top of Tianmen Mountain directly from Tianmen Cave. Also visitors can take the escalator down from the mountaintop to Tianmen Cave.
After the escalator operating, Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area has been opening two sightseeing routes. And it can make the scenic area accept over 60,000 tourists each day.
