Loushan Pass, located at the junction of Zunyi and Tongzi counties in the middle section of the Beidalu Mountain Range in Zunyi County, is an important gateway on the Sichuan Guizhou transportation artery. The Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army once won its first victory here since the Long March. It is very suitable to come here to experience the atmosphere of the Red Revolution and receive patriotic education.
Loushan Pass is a landmark scenic spot for red tourism. Tourists can visit the Red Army Monument and Memorial Hall, reminisce about those turbulent years, and remember the revolutionary martyrs of Burma. Then you can ride the motorcycle to the observation deck at the top of the mountain to enjoy the scenery. From the mountaintop, one can see the sprawling peaks and forests, creating a charming scenery.
In February 1935, the First Front Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army crossed the Chishui River twice, returned to northern Guizhou, annihilated four regiments of the Guizhou Army, captured Loushan Pass, and opened the prelude to the great victory of Zunyi, winning the first huge victory since the Long March and demonstrating the dawn of the Zunyi Conference. From then on, Loushan Pass, where the Red Army fought, became a famous revolutionary memorial site in northern Guizhou.
